Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, & Servers PageEucharistic Ministers: Primarily serve at the weekend Masses but their role includes taking Communion to the sick and shut-ins, including nursing home residents. Eucharistic ministers are Confirmed or currently enrolled in the Confirmation preparation, have a love of the Eucharist and a desire to share Christ’s presence with everyone. Training is provided by the Diocese and annual days of renewal are provided to support spiritual growth. Lectors: Lectors share their love of scripture by proclaiming the Word of God at our liturgies. A good, clear, voice is essential, training is provided by the Diocese in both theological foundations and practical skills. Our particular customs are explained and ongoing formation is expected. Altar Servers: Young people who have made their First Communion may be trained to assist the Celebrant at the Altar. Rehearsals are held for major celebrations.
